Washing and Caring for Sprouts

Alfalfa Sprouts are expensive to buy.  You can save a lot of money by growing them yourself.  For example, it costs about $3.60 for a 1 cup container of Alfalfa sprouts at the store, or just $0.30 to grow a quart of them yourself.  It is so simple to do that it is virtually fool proof.

I have been teaching classes on how to grow and use sprouts for years.  Sprouts are the most nutritional items you can have as part of your food storage.  They are packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals, and can boost your ability to absorb nutrients from other foods you eat.  For more information on sprouting check out my "Growing and Using Sprouts" class now available in my E-Learning Library!

In the classes I teach, I talk about how to harvest and rinse your sprouts so that they last up to 2 weeks in your fridge.  Here's a little video to illustrate how it is done.

I hope you've found this info helpful! Happy Sprouting!
