Banana Mousse Desert

This is our Banana Mousse Desert.  It is so simple and delicious it is bound to become a new family favorite!

Vanilla Wafer Crust:

Heat oven to 350 and gather the following...

1/2 c.    sugar
1/2 c.    flour
2 c.       crushed vanilla wafers (about 3/4 of a 12 oz. box)
1 tsp.    vanilla
1           whisked egg
2/3 c.    melted butter

banana mousse

Mix dry ingredients together.

Banana Mousse

2        5oz  boxes banana pudding (any other flavor can be used, be creative!)
5 c.     milk (can use water or re-hydrated powdered milk)
1 c.     Wip It (available for purchase here)
Banana Mousse

Toss it all into a mixer(I love my Kitchen Aid!) and whip it up until it is smooth and starting to thicken.  It should just coat the back of a spoon smoothly.
Banana Mousse

Spread on top of your cooled crust and top with dried banana chips and if you like (and I like) shaved chocolate.  Put in refrigerator to set and cool.
Banana Mousse

And here you have it, Banana Mousse Desert.  Smooth, creamy, and oh so tasty.  This is a very versatile recipe, you can use graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers, maybe add some cinnamon to the crust,  and any flavor pudding.  I am going to try a butterscotch mousse next.
Banana Mousse

Happy cooking!
